It was a warm afternoon at my parents’ beach resort. As I walked around the pool; I realized how lovely a swim sounded. The day had all the qualities of a gorgeous swimming day; the sun was out; there was a wonderful tropical breeze and to top it all off, there was a pool right in front of me. Excited; I ran back to the cabin and straight into my room where everything I needed was laid out.
My swimming costume was there; one that I had cried for and so was the snorkel that I had also recently gotten with additional tantrums. Everything was perfect; I got ready for my day in the pool. Just as I walked out of my room in my pretty swimming gear; the woman who claims to have given birth to me called out.
“Sharai!” she yelled; as I tip-toed my way to the door.
“Where on earth do you think you are going at this time?” she sternly asked.
“For a swim” I responded.
“For goodness sake child; you just had lunch”
“Mummy!” I wailed.
“Don’t you ‘mummy’ me young lady, up to your room now! You can have a swim in the pool two hours from now.”
“Two hours? But it won’t be the same!”
“No arguments missy, your room is waiting.” She said firmly.
“You’ll pay…”
She totally ruined my plans so I did the worst I could think off. I ran quickly to her room and snatched her favorite pair of heels from her closet. I dashed out of the front door and threw them down at the deep end of the pool.
‘That will teach her’ I said to myself.
I snickered when I saw the expression on her face when she found out. I got a five minute lecture on “how not to treat the heels your father buys for the woman he loves”.
‘Who is she trying to kid?’ we all know I am the “woman” my daddy loves.
The heels were horrible anyway.

Killer instinct (Revenge) by Lisa Phiri
(Her name was Kristen. She was such a beauty; looking at her gave on the impression that she was a model. The face that she was a gruesome murderer seemed unfathomable; it was a fairy tale gone extremely wrong. She was known as the Rottweiler, yet she seemed so harmless for she was a gorgeous girl with a lot of money and what seemed to be a perfect life.)
It was on a sunny day in Florida so I decided to go to the beach for a swim. I lived in a condo on the shoreline of Florida beach so it wasn’t a long walk to the beach.
It had been a month since Kristen’s last kill. She had left Kemptonville in order to escape that motivation that led her killing which she did not want to do. The last person she killed was Katie Lemar; her childhood bully. Kristen could still remember each and every detail. She remembered that cold merciless night.
I was just going for a night stroll; on my way back I was passing through a deserted alley that I used as a shortcut on my way home when I saw a young woman walking ahead of me. When I saw her that feeling hit me again; that feeling that makes me feel electrified; the sensation running through my veins made my body react with such eagerness.
But that was the past; I had moved to start a new life; but it all seemed worthless to me. Life seemed worthless to me now.
‘I’ve started questioning myself I realize I’m not getting anywhere near success in this case’ John thought to himself. It just seemed so wrong. When he had received the case on the “Rottweiler” earlier in the week, it had seemed that there was some mistake. His target was a woman named Kristen Holmer; daughter of Mr. James Holmer; a wealthy industrialist.
The girl had everything that anyone would want so why would she go about killing childhood friends and taking personal trinkets as memento. Katie had been her close friend in high school and a very good of her family as well, so why kill her?.
After looking deeper into the matter; John had discovered that the two had not been as chummy as their peers had thought back in high school. According to his sources Katie had betrayed Kristen and tormented her throughout their high school years.
Just then John received a call that interrupted his trail of thought. The call was a summon from his boss telling him to return to the office. When he got to the office half an hour later he was informed that they had identified the item taken from the deceased by the killer. The deceased parents had identified it as an Amina Vogel designer bracelet given to their daughter on her twenty first birthday by her boyfriend.
Five days later the young detective had been informed of the whereabouts of Kristen. He felt it was time to take some action and bring her down.
I decided that I must do the right thing; after all life is suddenly felt meaningless to me. I called the police in the form of a stranger tipping them off on my whereabouts for it seemed the right thing to do. Earlier on, I went to the bank and withdrew all my money in gold bars amounting to twelve million dollars. I sent three million to my family account for my sisters and brothers, I sent two million to the police department to help with the reconstruction of the police station back home.
Another two million I sent to the account of the detective who is working on my case to fund him for further studies on crime and investigation abroad. Last but not least; the remainder of the money I have donated to charity. All that I had to do is completed; except for one task that remains which I will do shortly.
‘What a disappointment’ John thought. As he looked at the corpse laying in front of him and the revolver that lay next to it. He had been looking forward to taking down the Rottweiler and putting her behind bars for the rest of her life. He folded up the letter he had found clutched in her hand. It had been addressed to him from her. A letter that explained her will. The letter also said that she had killed for revenge; she had hurt all those who had had hurt her in her childhood. John stared at her body and sighed.
“What a pity” he said under his breath.

Ashes for Christmas by Tiyamike Mwale
Cassie checked outside the door to see if they were gone, soon her friends would be lodging in. she checked again to be sure her parents were gone.
Her family was on vacation for Christmas at the pink sands resort. It was just the four of them, her parents, her little sister and herself.
‘What a perfect Christmas holiday’ she thought. She had even gotten in touch with her friends to tell her where she was and they could hardly believe it. The pink sands resort was one of the most expensive and luxurious holiday destinations in the country. She still couldn’t figure out how her parents had managed to come up with the money for the holiday but she didn’t bother herself with that instead she took in the breathtaking view and mused at what a thrilling Christmas it was going to be. She got even more excited at the fact that the friends she had made around the resort and her friends from back home were coming over for a get together she had planned.
She had planned to have it in her and her sister’s cabin but had decided that their parents’ cabin was better because it was much bigger than theirs. She felt a wave of annoyance when she remembered her sister. She wished that her parents had taken her little sister along with them because she didn’t want the hassle of babysitting; all she wanted to do was concentrate on her party. But as fate would have it she had to find a way to balance her party and her little sister.
She desperately looked at her watch and wondered why her friends hadn’t arrived yet, she was about to start panicking but to her delight they arrived a few minutes later. She cheerfully welcomed them and gestured them to come inside. All her friends had arrived and the party was beginning to warm up bit to her surprise she begun to notice that more guests kept arriving and she had no idea who they were. She brushed it off and thought that the more the people the better the party.
The people kept piling in and the cabin was getting full; the rooms were packed and the place was getting a bit rowdy. She couldn’t stand it; she went over to her friends whom she suspected to have invited all these people.
“Who are these people?” she asked them agitated. None of them answered.
Just then a girl she didn’t know staggered towards her and said.
“Cute guys and great beer”
“Beer!” Cassie said in shock and gave her friends a questioning but they just stared at her blankly.
Things were getting out of hand; she hadn’t planned for this nightmare; one that she would definitely get in trouble for and her so called friends did not seem concerned at all. To make matters worse someone switched off the lights and this sent volts of excitement among the crowd. As she walked across the room in dark she felt a cold menacing hand grab her by the waist; she turned around she identify the guy in the moonlight that was gushing through the windows; she saw a ruffled up guy with red eyes that showed no trace of any sanity.
“Let me go you freak!” she screamed as she pushed him only to have him land on the table causing the lit candles that were standing on its surface to fall over set the alcohol drenched carpet alight. Cassie stood there in shock as people went into a panic, trying to escape the fire. Just then her parents entered the cabin and they were taken aback by the chaos as people zoomed past them, but at least her father has the sense to quickly grab the fire extinguisher and put out the fire before it got out of control.
“I expect you will be dropping the check for the damages done here at the office madam” the manager of the resort said to Cassie’s mum. Her mum span around to face Cassie with fiery red eyes that bore great anger in what would have been disappointment had it been something lighter. She had no idea how she would begin to make up for this; she would probably pay for it for the rest of her life.

Postings
hello everyone, I know it has been a while since I have posted anything up and I appologise for that. The project is still growing with every session and I am learning alot. We are currently two sessions away from completing GIRL Intellect part of it and I have some of the work that girls have done.
From now on I will be posting their assignments for all of you to view and enjoy. The school is about to complete its academic year so the project will close along with the school and when the school re-opens the project will resume.
The girls attendance has remained consistent and they have been extremely dedicated to the project and very focused as well, I couldn't have asked for a better group to start with. I hope you will offer your constructive critism on their pieces of writing so that they can improve.
The logo is in the final stages of production and the website construction will begin shortly,I am also currently searching for an additonal school so that I can do the project in two schools at the same time. I feel great now that it is established, all that is left now is to spread the word and I am currently speaking to a journalist at the moment who might decide to do a piece on it.I am keeping my fingers crossed!

PROJECT UPDATE
The project is on its way. I have already had three sessions with the girls and so far everything is great. In the first session I taught the girls how to write short stories, this was followed by an activity where every girl was given a story board and some random clippings with which they had to write a story on.
They came up with some great stories which they presented in the next session after I had taught them how to write a book report. I am going to type up the stories and post them up one by one. I am currently dealing with 12 girls, thats 2 more than I expected but it's alright. They all seem keen on what they are learning and are giving the project 100% of their effort.
I am really enjoying myself and I have taken loads of pictures which I am yet to post up. We have changed meeting dates from Thursday & Friday every week to Wednesday and Thursday as some of the girls have other academic commitments to attend to on Friday. We are meeting tomorrow for the summary session and I am looking forward to it.
Till the next update.....Cheers

FIRST SESSION
I launched the project today (18/06/10) and it was great! I have a good set of girls who are outgoing and very pro-active. Today, we had our first session which was the "get to know" session where I basically chatted with the girls and we played a few ice breaker games.
They are very enthusiastic about the project and this adds to my enthusiasium. I failed to launch the project yesterday because there was a time mix up and by the time I got to the school it was closing time. I have learnt my lesson from this experience and that is to always check to make sure that the time set is the actual time to start.
GIRL Intellect is starting next week and I have already prepared the things I need for the activities and I am looking forward to our next section. The profile forms have not been filled in yet but they should be by the end of next week and they will be posted on the profile page.
I will update the block after every sesseion to keep you posted on what we are doing and the progress made. So be sure to check the blog every Thursday and Friday of every week. If the schedule changes I will be sure to let you know.

THE LAUNCH
First let me start by appologizing for not updating the blog for the past few days. Even though I havent kept in touch I have been working hard on the project to ensure that the preparation is done perfectly.
With that said I am pleased to say that the project is ready for the launch. I have purchased all materials needed and finished with all handouts. The school I am starting with is Bambino High school and I will post it's profile on the schools page next week.
We have agreed to launch it on the 17th of June 2010 and the girls have been identified. Once they sign their profiles I will post up their names. I am glad this has all come together beautifully and I hope you will keep track of my progress.
